Descending through broad brick steps bordered by traditional herringbone-patterned retaining walls, the design transitions to a playful intermediate level defined by a checkerboard paver-and-turf motif surrounding a small rectangular pool. At the lowest tier, a gravel patio with modern furnishings and a concrete fire pit offers a cozy lounge setting, tucked among hydrangeas, conifers, and layered plantings.
