The Scott Saunders Award
Design of the Year
Named after our own Creative Director, Scott Saunders — one of the hardest-working members of our team — this award recognizes the single best design of the year. It’s the pinnacle of creativity, functionality, and vision. The winner of this category will also receive a $1,000 prize!
The Phoenix Award
Best Transformation
From death to rebirth. This award celebrates the most dramatic backyard transformation of the year. We want to see the before and after photos that prove just how far your project came — from lifeless to lively, from plain to extraordinary.
The Vision Award
Most Creative
This award is all about creativity. Maybe you had to work magic in a small space with big limitations — or maybe you had no boundaries and built the ultimate dream yard. Either way, if you feel like your design is the most creative of the year, this is your stage.
The Baywatch Award
Best Pool
Call in the lifeguards — because this category is all about the water! The Baywatch Award goes to the contractor who built the best-looking pool of the year. Whether it’s sleek and modern, natural and lush, or simply the place everyone wants to dive into — we want to see it.
The Courtyard Award
Best Patio
This award celebrates the ultimate outdoor hangout space. Patios, pergolas, and backyard lounges that set the vibe for family, friends, and good times. If your project is the place to be with the coolest outdoor patio, submit it here.
The Landmark Award
Best Structure
Some structures are so cool, they become instant landmarks — the feature everyone talks about and wants to see. Whether it’s a pergola, pool house, pavilion, greenhouse, or even a treehouse, this award honors the most must-see backyard structure of the year.
The Ramsey Award
Best Outdoor Kitchen
Gordon Ramsey might yell at us for saying this, but here it is: if your outdoor kitchen isn’t good enough to make him shout in delight instead of anger — it doesn’t deserve this award. Submit your most stunning, functional, or creative outdoor kitchen builds.
The Ironman Award
Most Designs
This one is about endurance, consistency, and strength. Inspired by the Ironman, Cal Ripken Jr., the Ironman Award honors the contractor who has partnered with us on the most designs this year. A recognition of dedication and drive. No submission required.
The Gatsby Award
Most Expensive Project
This award goes to the year’s most extravagant design resulting in the most expensive project of the year — the project with no limits. Luxury finishes, bold vision, and big budgets all come together here. Show off your ultimate high-end build and claim the title. No submission required.
